It looks like the weather is going to hold for the weekend, so why not come and spend Sunday & Monday in sunny Kenmare! We have a few rooms left for the Sunday night at €139 for the room, B&B. There’s always plenty to see and do in Kenmare – the bars are buzzing with people and live music and there’s loads of restaurants to choose from for meals out. Kenmare’s own little theatre – the Carnegie Arts Centre – is running a play over the weekend. ‘An Inspector Calls’ by J B Priestly, is an intriguing play considered to be one of the classics of mid-20th Century English theatre. Weekend Weddings at the Kenmare Bay Hotel

Congratulations to our 2 couples – Louise & Niall and Laura & Gideon. Louise & Niall were a little unlucky with the weather on Friday, but it didn’t dampen their spirits nor those of their 300 guests who enjoyed a fantastic day. For Laura & Gideon, it was definitely second time lucky! They had to postpone their wedding from 23rd April, thanks to the Ash Cloud. It poured with rain on 23rd April. They got married on Saturday, 19th June in the most beautiful sunshine and they and all their guests had a brilliant weekend in Kenmare.   www.kenmarebayhotel.com/weddings

New head of Renew Beauty

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

Congratulations to Trish O’Sullivan, who takes over the reins of Renew Beauty at the Bay Health Club. Many of you will already have met Trish, a talented and highly acclaimed therapist who has been working with us for over 2 years already. We wish Trish luck in her new role and we also welcome our new therapist, Aine O’Sullivan.
In welcoming Trish as Renew’s new Salon Manager, we must say goodbye to Amanda Arthur who has left us to set up her own venture. Good luck Amanda – we’ll miss you but we know you have a bright future ahead of you.

The bride to be that wasn’t!

Monday, April 26th, 2010

Poor Laura and Gideon – they were supposed to get married on Saturday, 24th April and have their Reception with us, but the volcanic eruption put paid to their plans as a lot of their friends and family from overseas couldn’t travel. Did that stop them having a good weekend? Not on your life! They came and stayed with us anyway, with a group of friends and family, and had a ball. That’s the only answer really isn’t it, when your wedding has to be postponed through no fault of your own. They painted Kenmare town red on the first evening and then spent the second evening at the hotel with a fantastic meal in the restaurant followed by a good old sing song. As they looked out at the lashing rain on Saturday, I’m sure they felt some relief that they didn’t get married that day. So, they’re off on Honeymoon now and they still have their wedding to look forward to in June! Best of luck Laura and Gideon – I’m sure the sun will be shining for you in June.
