FAQ - Self Catering Holiday Homes & Family Lodges
Q. How is the price of my self catering accommodation calculated? A. All properties are priced on a per house basis and cover the stated number of persons in each property.
Q. How early do I need to book? A. We recommend that you book as early as possible but especially for the busy months of July and August, Bank Holiday weekends and school holidays, to avoid disappointment.
Q. Do I have to book my accommodation for 7 days? A. Minimum of 7 day stays on certain dates in July/August. At all other times our minimum requirement is 1 or 2 night stays depending on the season. This can be weekend or midweek (depending on availability). If you can't book your required dates on line, it is advisable to send an email request to firstname.lastname@example.org..
Q. What is not included in the price of my holiday home/lodge? A. All self-catering rates quoted include all extras such as electricity and utility charges. Guests also have full use of hotel facilities including our leisure centre with 20m swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room and state of the art gymnasium.
Q. When do I pay for my holiday home/lodge? A. A non-refundable booking deposit is payable at time of booking; the balance of payment is due 4 weeks prior to your arrival.
Q. Do I need a credit card to make a booking? A. Yes, a major credit card is required. Alternatively we will hold your booking for 7 working days until we receive the appropriate deposit by mail. A cheque, postal order or bank draft is acceptable..
Q. What happens if I need to cancel my booking? A. In the event of a cancellation, the following terms apply: 1) If cancelling more than 4 weeks in advance of arrival, only booking deposit is lost 2) If cancelling within 4 weeks of arrival; you will forfeit 100% of the cost of the booking
Q. What is the check-in time? A. Check in is from 4pm on the date of arrival.
Q. What is the check-out time? A. Check-out is strictly 10am. However, in off season/quieter periods we try to be as flexible as possible and later check-out times may be pre-arranged with the hotel.
Q. Do I pay a security deposit for my holiday home/lodge? A. Yes, a security deposit of 100 euro is payable on arrival. This can be preauthorized on any major credit card. The security deposit is returned to you once the hotel is satisfied that the holiday home/lodge is left in order. Any breakages should be reported & paid for on departure. Excessive damage to any holiday home/lodge will be the responsibility of the person who made the booking.
Q. What facilities are available in the accommodation? A. All our self-catering accommodation provides fully fitted kitchens including washing machine/dryer, dishwasher, and microwave. One Travel Cot and highchair are provided per property. Any extras required may incur a charge. Stair gates are also available on request.
Q. Is bed linen provided? A. Yes, all properties provide bed linen. Towels are also provided. Cot linen is not provided. If you require a linen change or your accommodation serviced during your stay, an extra charge will apply.
Q. Can I take a pet to the holiday home/lodge I have booked? A. A limited number of the holiday homes allow dogs, but not the lodges. You should confirm this before booking. Guide dogs are welcome at all properties.
Q. How far are the Foreland Holiday Houses from the Hotel? A. They are approximately 2 minutes' away by car and 5/6 minutes by foot.
Q. Do Foreland guests have full use of the hotel's leisure centre? A. Yes – all guests staying in the Kenmare Bay Hotel’s Foreland Holiday Houses have full use of all the hotel’s facilities, including the Kids Club, drop-in play room and leisure centre.
